Corpus Christi, TX & Woodridge, IL | September 4, 2019 — GovQA customer, the City of Corpus Christi, was recently honored with an Award of Excellence for Best App (Technological Services category) at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) State Conference.
According to city officials, the My City mobile app, designed by GovQA, is “a free and fast way to connect with City services and information”. The app allows residents of Corpus Christi to submit and track requests for a number of city services including utilities issues (garbage/recycling, gas, water), animal-related complaints, building inspections and zoning questions, permits, sink holes, storm drain issues, flooding, gas leaks, spills, housing and community development concerns, motor vehicle violations, traffic construction, and employee complaints.
Users can also pay traffic tickets and utility bills via the app and view city events and job openings. The app provides convenient links to the city website, airport and Corpus Christi social media accounts.
The TAMI 2019 Technological Services category award for Best App was judged on effectiveness (engaging, relevant content and highly functional app performance), design/content (aesthetics and intuitive design), and overall results (achievement of purpose and stated goals).
According to the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers website, TAMIO was organized in 1974, when only a handful of Texas cities employed professional communications staff. Today, the organization is growing and actively seeks to advance and promote the active cooperation and exchange of information and ideas among Texas cites and promote recognition for achievement in communication with citizens.
GovQA is proud to congratulate the City of Corpus Christi on the prestigious award. The My City app is available for download in Google Play and Apple App Stores.
