Loudoun County Launches Online Portal

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has launched an online portal for citizens to request public records under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA).

Illinois-based company GovQA provided the software for the platform, which tracks requests across multiple departments, standardizes and expedites records processing.

With this easily accessible web portal, the public can be sure it is receiving complete and accurate records in a reasonable time frame. It allows a requestor to submit a new public records request, track the progress of the request and receive updates by email. The requestor can also read any correspondence or notes about specific requests and download electronic records deliverables.

The system helps stakeholders better understand the direct costs associated with records processing. Members of the public can continue to contact the LCPS Public Information Office in writing as well as via the new online service.
