City of Plano aims to streamline public information request process with new software

The city of Plano announced in mid-March it has purchased new software for submitting and processing public records requests.

Multiple city departments will use the new GovQA software, which is expected to help standardize records processing, according to a city news release. The city expects the software will also help residents better understand the costs associated with records processing.

“This investment in technology will have a direct impact on citizen engagement and transparency and should speed up the process,” city secretary Lisa Henderson said in a statement.

Users of the software will now be able to track the progress of their information requests, as well as receive updates by email, according to the release.
